Blondie’s Boutique Designer Consignment Shop in Sutter Creek

 

In the heart of Sutter Creek on Main Street, Blondie’s Boutique offers a wide variety of gently used designer label clothing, shoes, purses, accessories and more. The store is jam packed and features displays throughout the shop.

 

The store originally open in April 2011. Bonnie brings her creative ideas for a unique display with a variety of styles for every taste.  The clothing is mostly provided by people who bring in their gently used items and they then receive 50% of the sale price of the item. Bonnie also brings in many new items she personally seeks out to purchase for the store. 

 

I am constantly amazed at the quantity of really nice clothing that is brought in to the store. We offer a place where people can bring in the things they aren’t using any more and earn extra cash. No appointment is necessary for bringing in items for consignment from Wednesday through Saturday.  The better shape the items are in, the faster they sell. Shoppers can expect to see a wide variety of current styles in a range of sizes from teens' to women's.  One thing that has surprised me is the popularity of furs and fake furs. We get a lot of vintage clothing and jewelry. People love to come in to the store to browse and look around. Most of our customers are here by referral, the word gets around.

 

The boutique business is a big change for Rood. She was a horse trainer for 30 years until three years ago. She also rode Pro Rodeo for 13 years starting right out of high school. “I wanted to do something different.” Rood says. “I’ve always loved fashion and shopping and I’ve had a passion for thrift stores and consignment shops. This isn’t work, it’s fun. I enjoy it so much and I want it to be fun for my customers.”

 

Rood enjoys getting to know her customers. “When a customer comes in to my store, I want them to be surprised and delighted. I hope they find just the thing that makes them happy. There is so much here, they love to come back often just to see what’s new.”
